Colston Bassett Stores

The re designed and expanded Colston Bassett Store opened early in 2004 following an extensive renovation programme. Yet the new-look shop is carrying on a fine tradition of trading in the heart of the Vale of Belvoir. Colston Bassett is regarded as one of Nottinghamshire’s most historic, peaceful and charming villages. Why not pop over for a visit and see for yourself? We aim to be the best specialist cheese shop in the area, and to help us achieve this, we’ve gone to great lengths to supply cheeses from top quality sources–both at home and abroad. With around 40 cheeses to choose from in our store, including pasteurised and un-pasteurised, goats’ cheese and sheep cheese – and not forgetting the famous Colston Bassett Stilton, there are sure to be products to suit all tastes.

The deli counter offers a great selection of continental charcuterie, olives and antipasti. We aim to offer something unusual, for example our beautiful, cloud shaped Salami ‘Fiocco’ or Wild Boar Prosciutto. But customers will find our prices compare favourably with mass market stores on many products. To accompany our cheeses, there is a large selection of chutneys, fruit pastes and delicious crackers. And our range of jams, preserves, cakes and chocolates is second to none.

Over the years we have become well-known for stocking a superb range of wines, competitively priced from just £3.99. Here you can choose from no less than 8 different New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs, including the famous ‘Cloudy Bay’. We also stock an interesting range of bottled beers, including local brews and specialist ales from Belgium. Register on our website to be kept informed of wine tastings.

Colston Bassett Store is a haven for gifts and greetings cards, and has the most extensive range of jewellery and personal gifts available in the area. Watch out for our ‘Girls Night Out’ in November, a great evening with lots of stalls selling unusual things.’
