Holiday cottages set in a secluded valley abundant with wildlife

Not many places that offer accommodation nowadays can boast of being situated in a natural, coarse-famed, 30-acre valley of wildflowers, buzzards and badgers.  Mill House Holiday Cottages is such a place.  A rippling stream that once fed the 17th century mill house passes by the cottages in which kingfishers can be regularly spotted diving for fish.  This stunning piece of Lincolnshire countryside is a haven for all forms of English wildlife with its meadows, hedgerows, trees and lakes. It is the perfect location for walkers wishing to explore this unspoilt part of the world.  Set off early morning and enjoy the beauty of dawn and your senses will be bombarded with the smell of the country, the sound of bird song and the peaceful beauty of the land that surrounds you.

Specialising in short breaks all year round, Mill House Holiday Cottages comprises of three newly converted cottages, that can each accommodate 4 people, or 2 plus a cot. If all the cottages are booked, a group of 10 can be accommodated making it perfect for family celebrations or a get-together for a group of friends.  Facilities at all the cottages include: wood burning stoves; roll top baths; 4 poster beds; exposed beams; a dishwasher; a microwave; an electric oven; a washing machine; a tumble dryer; large open plan gardens with BBQs; colour Freeview digital TVs; and a video player or DVD; Stereo / CD player. Burghley Cottage also has the ultimate luxary of a hot tub,  it’s hard to believe that these comfortable and luxurious cottages were once used to store carts and wagons!

The quintessentially English village of Eaton is full of stone buildings, oozing with character. There are two pubs within walking distance to soothe the thirsts of any weary ramblers. The Red Lion at nearby Stathern is a truly wonderful pub serving terrific food, from bar snacks to three course á la Carte meals.  Stathern also includes a good village store, open long hours and stocking all the essentials. The local area has its fair share of stately homes, including Belton, Woolsthorpe and Burghley House, all worth a visit, while not forgetting the magnificent Belvoir Castle, home to the Duke of Rutland. In fact, the cottages themselves reside on land abutting that of the Castle.  Just a short drive away is the historic city of Lincoln, as well as the ancient town of Stamford and the bustling market town of Melton Mowbray.  If you fancy a day's shopping, nearby Nottingham offers a sophisticated city centre bursting with shops, restaurants and cafes.
