The Red House is an impressive red brick old coaching house located in the charming village of Nether Broughton. It has a superb location being situated in an idyllic and quaint village, yet also only 15 minutes away from the sophisticated and vibrant cities of Nottingham and Leicester which both offer a fantastic days shopping and superb restaurant and bar scene. The Red House can offer the visitor fantastic food, luxurious and comfortable accommodation and a great base to soak up the delights the local area has to offer.
You may simply wish to pop in for a drink, and if so will be warmly welcomed. In winter enjoy a pint while warming yourself by the open fire or leaning on the amazing ‘book’ bar. On warmer summer days you may wish find a sunny spot in the Garden Bar & Grill where you will surely be tempted by the aromas drifting over from the open plan kitchen serving food with a rustic, deli approach. You will also not have to juggle to keep your children occupied while trying to enjoy your meal as The Red House has an outdoor play area and plenty of running around space.
The restaurant interior successfully showcases décor that is a mix of the traditional with a modern and funky twist and is the perfect setting to enjoy the eclectic menu on offer. The head chef, David Ferguson has put together a fantastic selection of dishes and focuses upon using fresh produce that has been sourced from the local area. To start your meal, choose from a selection that includes; Spiced Crab Cake, Green Onion Risotto with Sweet Chilli Oil or perhaps share Mussels of the day served with rusty bread.
To follow you’ll be faced with the tough decision of choosing between; Roasted Loin of Nottinghamshire Pork stuffed with local Black Pudding, bashed Apricot Potatoes, Calvados & Apple Jus or Baked Cod, Bouangere Potatoes, slow roasted Cherry Vine Tomatoes, Crème Fraiche and Parmesan. Make sure you spare some room though as the dessert menu is full to the brim of mouth-watering delights such as Baileys Crème Brulee served with a homemade Vanilla Shortbread or Tart au Chocolate with White Chocolate and Orange Sorbet.
There are eight beautifully dressed rooms, each with their own unique and contemporary style, indeed upon it’s recent AA inspection the hotel has been graded as 3-4 star for it’s accommodation. The fantastic facilities on offer display a high attention to detail to ensure a comfortable visit. In each room there are spacious wardrobes, a trouser press, tea and coffee making facilities, television with DVD and CD player, and a large desk area with laptop com point. You will also find a few extra comfort features that will make your stay that extra bit special; in the spacious wardrobes you find a dressing gown and the bathrooms are complimented by thick white towels and Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries. The centre-piece for these remarkable rooms however surely must be the large king-size beds which are dressed in Egyptian cotton and each have an individually designed head board. The venue has a marquee with a capacity of up to 200 people, which makes it perfect for wedding receptions and private functions.
