About us.

Belvoir Cordials and Pressés

Belvoir Fruit Farms is situated in the Vale of Belvoir a naturally beautiful part of the East Midlands. We are just near Belvoir Castle. We are tenants of the Belvoir estate, who manage their land to keep the beauty and environment of this rural area intact and it is here that we grow the elderflowers for the Belvoir Cordials and Pressés. All our elderflower plantations are certified as Organic too which means they are a great home for wildlife and birds.

Lord John Manners, brother of the late Duke of Rutland, founded Belvoir Fruit Farms in 1981 to grow fruit as a pick-your-own operation. He soon began to seek to find a use for the unpicked and over-ripe fruit and he hit on the idea of making pure squeezed fresh fruit cordials using none of the artificial colours and flavours that are so prevalent in the soft drink trade.

The idea to make Elderflower Cordial came easily enough because his wife Mary Manners' home-made elderflower was already in hot demand from friends and relatives. The Belvoir Elderflower was the first Elderflower Cordial to be commercially produced and has been much copied but it has been consistently voted the best in competitive tastings. We aim to keep it so and we hope you agree. All of our drinks are made naturally, we only use fresh fruit, flowers and spices. None of our drinks contain colours, flavours (natural or artificial) or artificial sweeteners. Our elderflower plantations are certified as Organic and the spring water we use comes from natural springs in the Belvoir hills
