About us.

Long Clawson Dairy was founded in 1911

Long Clawson Dairy was formed when 12 farmers from the Vale of Belvoir, Leicestershire formed a co-operative to produce Stilton cheese in the village of Long Clawson. The company prospered and today, 56 producing members from 34 farms, all from within the Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire area supply 31 million litres of milk per annum. The company is a traditional company well known for its quality and innovation. Clawson was the first cheese-producing dairy in the UK to have received accreditation for their farmer members to the RSPCA Freedom Food initiative.

This is a food labelling scheme which ensures that those farm animals involved in the food chain receive the best possible treatment. In 1996 we were awarded ISO 9001. Today, we have more than 30 products in our portfolio including Blue Stilton, Blue Shropshire, Blue Vinney and many blended cheeses. Within the website you will find a wealth of information about our Company and our products where we believe there is a cheese to suit every palate. Serving Suggestions, Recipes and Nutritional Facts accompany each cheese profile so everything you need to know is available at the click of a mouse. There is also an on-line shopping facility for those who require retail therapy!
