The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) is the membership organisation for owners of land, property and businesses in rural England and Wales.

The game fair returns to Belvoir Castle in July 20th to 22nd 2012.

Following on from the game fairs held in 2005 and 2009 at Belvoir Castle, the game fair returns to Belvoir in July 20 th to 22nd 2012. this will be an event to look forward to in the area to say the least. The CLA offer its members leadership and professional advice at all times.The ClA speaks for everyone who believes in a living and working countryside and help promote in as many ways as we can. Through the experience and expertise of members and staff,at CLA we promote our members’ interests and influence decision-makers to ensure the positive development of the rural economy is being considered. We achieve this by being professional, relevant and forward looking.CLA professionals lobby continuously at EU, national and regional level in the interests of our members, ensuring a visible presence and influence in the media and with Government.The CLA Game Fair provides a great platform to promote all countryside events and the rural way of life.

Buy your tickest for the Belvoir CLA Game 2012 and book your accommodation via the Vale of Belvoir website, find bed and breakfast and other good places to stay for the whole weekend.Advance tickets offer all categories of entrance tickets.  Children under 10 and parking are free, and there are special rates for groups, Senior Citizens and juniors up to 19. Tickets can also be bought on the gate, with the exception of groups. With so much to see and do there are also discounted tickets for multi day entrance.
 
What is on at the game fair for 2012.
 
The CLA have a professional advisory team gives members unlimited, independent and impartial information and advice on a wide range of issues including tax, legal, planning, land use, environmental and rural business matters.s the World's Leading Country Sport Event the show hosts the UK's biggest and the very best of shooting and fishing shows. The show caters for all peoples sporting plesures as well as the most comprehensive gundog and falconry exhibitions. Most of the Game fair covers alongside every other aspect of countryside activities and interests. Right down to ferreting,  providing an in sight to gamekeeping, Estate Management, along with providing information on Forestry and Woodland, with Belvoirs long tradition of hunting and with one of the oldest packs the Belvoir tans in the countryside then the game shows hounds and hunting are a must to see part of the fair.

Under the banner of the National Countryside Show, visitors will also enjoy the large section relating to food, the most  enjoyed pass time of gardening, conservation and nature are all here to see, food and cookery demonstrations take place over the two days. For you driving off road then our  4 x 4 driving, and many family orientated features included in areas such as Active Countryside for All where quad biking, mountain boarding, aerial trekking, laser combat and many other fun activities can be enjoyed.

The history of the Belvoir Castle. The Manners family the 11th Duke today David Manners

Belvoir enjoys a commanding position with breathtaking views across the Vale of Belvoir on clear days you can see Nottingham and Lincoln Catherdral. The Castle is open to the public during the summer and you can look round the Castle itself, or walk through the secluded woodland grounds and Gardens followed by the peacocks! Belvoir Castle set in woodland and parkland with lakes also hosts a number of events throughout the year such as craft fares, pop concerts, jousting and other medieval occasions, there are plenty of hotels near Belvoir Castle to stay in when visiting an event at the Castle there are also lots of bed and breakfast available however booking in advance is advised.

Why not xperience a truly festive day out at Christmas in the wonderful setting.  Visitors are greeted by the roaring fires in the Castle along with the smell of roasted chestnuts and the sound of choirs and bagpipes.To round off the day the piper will lead everyone in carol singing in the atmospheric Guardroom all are welcome to come and join in. The restaurant serves lunch including traditional Christmas dishes and mulled wine and mince pies are available in the Porters Lodge. The Castle gift shop is opened with traditional gifts and Christmas decorations.The Castle opens at 11am and closes at 5pm. Pre-booking is not required and the usual Castle entrance charges apply.

The Hunt and The Duke of Rutland's Hounds.

The Belvoir Hunt's website is for stop-press news, and to provide a summary of forthcoming events, and details of how to contact the Hunt, the site provides ways to place adverts and has a unique satellite map of belvoir country, which is zoomable to hedgerow level and shows the Belvoir Hunt boundary and many of our coverts. On the website are reports from theTumblers Club, a local point-to-point racing, team chasing and hunter trials information is available. Other information on farming and countryside alliance issues are linked as well as hedgelaying competition and others events taking place. The Dukes hounds are called the "Belvoir Tans" and are one of the oldest packs of hounds in the country.The Hunt complies to all the regulations of the Hunting Ban but has a duty of care to ensure that the historic pack of hounds are looked after and that they are not lost. The puppy show is one of the highlights of the Belvoir Hunt held in May and is a great sporting and countryside event.
