About The Unicorns Head.
Situated in Langar Village.
Set in the beautiful countryside of the Vale of Belvoir, the historic Unicorns Head is a traditional 18th Century coaching inn. The stunning grade 2 listed building features beamed ceilings, open fires and original architecture and is one of Nottinghamshire’s premier pub restaurants, having been awarded a prestigious Best Kept Pub accolade. Popular with locals, this typically village pub is also extremely welcoming for visitors, providing a relaxed atmosphere and surroundings to enjoy both food and drink.
The Unicorn was built in 1717 and was originally called 'The Feathers'. This is thought to be due to the feathers in the coat of arms of the original Lord of the manor. It was built as a coaching house and stood halfway along the old Nottingham to Grantham road. The property fell into disrepair until 1999 when plans where made to restore the building to its former glory. The Unicorns Head now is under the care of the hugely successful Mulberry Pub Company who has recently been short listed as a finalist for Publican award for 'Food and Wine matching' and also for their tremendous Sunday Lunch.
A wide selection of delicious home cooked meals is available; from traditional English food to more international flavours, so there really is something for everyone! The Landlord actively encourages families to come and relax at this welcoming gastro-pub. Located in the centre of Langar village with it's own carpark, The Uncorns Head also has a Bistro Courtyard where you can enjoy a meal and drink while making the most of thoses warm, summer days.
